More information, please. What were you doing, where did you get this error, etc.

I was sending /ctcp command
I tried using mIRC and I got this in return:
Error:[unable to resolve your ip, please disable any hostmasking] do it with /mode yourNick -x
so I type as it says and then, I got this:
i'm using an alternative serving method. please type '/dccserver +sc on 59' to connect

Did you do that and then try connecting?

How are you connecting to the internet?

I'd say this error might be specific to that network or bot. Have you ever had issues with this before? Have you ever used IRC before? If not i'd say read tutorials.

I guess it because of the network or bot, then. I only get this error with some users but not the others. Is there any way to fix it?

I used to use IRC like 3 years ago or so; but at that time, all I did was chat and chat. So.... no?

Is this happening with Fserves? This is going to be a reach cause i've never had the problem...I'm assuming that the Fserve or DCC is trying to connect back to your host and is unable to reach it. Do you have a firewall? Router? Windows firewall? Disable everything, if on a router make yourself DMZ host (or figure out what ports DCC goes through, I forget). Make sure something like norton internet securities isn't enabled blocking a port/ip.

I'm assuming that "'/dccserver +sc on 59' " will just set your dcc port to 59 instead of default. Have you tried this option? If so what happened?
